It's not really my specialty, but a priestess taught me a basic recovery spell a while back. Could patch up most wounds in a few minutes, if they weren't too serious.
We don't have magic healing like that in our world. The gods do bless people to recover eventually, but they still have to heal at a normal, human pace.
Growing up, I had no talent for magic whatsoever. I'm the descendant of a world-famous sage, a man who mastered all of the major schools of magic... It was frustrating, to say the least.
My grandma was one of the first mages born after the Rash. She grew up in the world we have now, and she's always been a leader in our community. Every fall she would go out and exterminate nearby trolls to keep our village safe. My brother and my cousin carried on in her footsteps, since they inherited her magic. But I'm just...normal, I guess.
[She would have loved to go out training with Grandma like the others got to.]
What I'm saying is, I totally get how you feel. How did you end up becoming a mage though, if you weren't born with the talent?

Yes....?

You all right? ... Besides your wounds.

I think so? I'm pretty resilient, I can bounce back from just about anything.
no subject
... All right. If you're sure.

[She'll open up eventually. It just takes a lot for her to admit there's a problem.]
It is pretty annoying though, even moving my arm stings.

[A sigh.]
... It's a shame we can't use healing magic here.

[Even if it's boring to sit still.]
Your world has magic that just heals people like that?

[Tuuri you were bleeding from your eyes earlier.]

[Sorry Tuuri, your gods sound like cheapskates.]

I think it's just based on what's needed. Most of Lalli's magic is based on protecting people and guiding souls to the afterlife.

... I suppose I can relate, in a way.

There's an uncomfortable pause at the next question, however.]
I...
I had to lose something important.

[She pauses, and she glances away.]
If you don't want to explain, you don't have to. But I'll listen if you want to talk about it.
no subject
Yeah... I will. But first, we'd better focus on tomorrow.
[and maybe next week will be memshares and that'll make this real easy.]
no subject
[Me chanting memshare memshare memshare]
But thank you for talking with me, Zel.

... Make sure you don't aggravate those wounds.
[and then he'll just leave. guess that was his way of saying bye for now.]
