I think the technology here falls somewhere in-between your world and mine. A lot of the stuff here is stuff my world used to have, before the Rash happened.
By records from the time, at the start of the outbreak there were over 7 billion people on the planet. Right now, there's about 290,000 people alive in my world.
Yeah. My grandma was born just after the Rash first started to spread, and she used to share stories from her parents about how things were then. Apparently a lot of people thought it really was the apocalypse.
There's only five countries left in the Known World, where there used to be hundreds before. And most of the survivors were on an island nation that closed its borders before the infection could get in. Finland only has about 10,000 people today, and it had seven million or so before.
