[ She'll allow this, fully entertained by her excitement. Also NOOO her cute icon... ]

Projected stars, just to warn you -- but yes, that's right.

I had thought that in many parts of Finland, the skies were actually fairly clear at night.

That sounds beautiful.

Tokyo is very guilty of light pollution. At best, I can only see a star here or there most nights, and the moon.

I wouldn't say "lanterns".

Street lights, skyscrapers, housing. We're a very digital society these days, too. You'd have to go out far, perhaps somewhere like Tama, in order to see any stars in the sky.

Oh... yes. That is what I meant.

What is the technology level in your world, exactly? Are electric lights rare?

I see, you grew up very rural. The apocalyptic crisis doesn't make it any better, I'm sure.

Even fire and lanterns, with enough of them, could drown out the sky, but electric lights do it much more efficiently.

[ She looks at the planetarium, the dotted stars. ]

Is this an accurate representation, then?

Wow.

That really does sound pretty. The kinds of things we take for granted, hm?

[ Alas, human nature. Such pretty things hidden right above their heads all along. ]

Do you know any constellations? I'm not familiar at all, beyond the basic twelve for the Zodiac, and that's really more just because there's always a column in girl magazines.

Polaris, the North Star. Ever a reliable guide for the seafaring.

Wonder why we rely on people to tell us things when the natural world has always been right there.

Poetic!

[ She approves. ]

I was never a nature sort of person myself, but this is making me see the appeal of it.

[ Unfortunately, she's still giggling, though it seems to be less manic than it was at trial itself. ]

Oh, I'm alright, dear. I'd say I'm one of the less affected by the entire ordeal, aside from my level of exasperation.

And you?

People kill others for pettier reasons, in mine. Every day, people disappear -- and it's not even just ghouls killing humans, or humans killing ghouls.

But it's hardly a fair comparison -- doing it out in the streets is different from doing it like a show for a kangaroo court.

It was for the supposed "guarantee".

Sure, Hunter wasn't likely to get picked, with his low tolerance and all. But still, a zero chance is better than a non-zero, for most.

Still -- how petty, and the audacity to claim such a bold, "heartfelt" reason, and then make a mockery of a murder while at it.

Or afraid, of the possibility that it could be you next time?

Of course it can. And I have respect for you for being able to say it's both.

This is troublesome...

That's very idealistic of you.

We're never not going to be on a time limit, unfortunately. One week down... seven left to go. When a supposed return to life is on the line, it'll be even shorter -- the sooner one can feel a sense of security, the sooner one will probably try and take it.

... And yet, tonight, we did see one of the worst decisions made.

[ She wonders how it'll all shake out. ]

You'll be careful, won't you? Nothing silly as to paint a target on yourself.

Better brush up on your drinking skills, then.

Worry not, I don't have any intentions to kill you.

[ Not that she knows if that was ever a concern given how tiny she is but like. Hey. She's aware she came off as a bit unhinged by the end of trial. ]

[ She's too used to anyone trying to kill her, you know? Tuuri should say they're friends out loud, she'd be surprised. ]

That's good.

What'll you do from here on?

[ In other words English continues to suck......

She smiles, though.
]

How very noble of you. You're right, of course. Nobody is strong enough to work completely alone -- not one.

[ However, if there's an opposition who instead bands together to wipe out enough to guarantee their own placements... well, she doesn't say anything about it. ]

For now, though, I think some rest would be well-deserved.

Nine hours of no food, only drinks! And with that kind of spectacle, it'd drive anyone a little mad.

[ Whether that applies to her is up to you. ]

Something to eat, and then sleep. It wouldn't kill us to get better beds, but I'm used to falling asleep at desks, so it could be worse.

Mutton is a luxury in Japan, did you know? We're not one to eat much sheep. Or beef, for that matter. Fresh meat would be amazing, though -- I'm not a big eater, but I'd still rather that than junk food all the time.

[ She definitely hasn't been eating properly, and it's because they technically don't need to eat that she's been holding back, but! Still. Hungy. ]

We might all get even crankier if this continues. Let's all try to keep a level head, shall we?

It's even the little differences that keep us interesting, I suppose.

[ Yeah!! Hopefully they get more real people food soon, because she really cannot stand what they have for sustenance here. ]
