Yeah. But...I guess I'll have to get used to him not being here. It's not like we can stop tomorrow from happening.
[She wants to fight it with every fiber of her being. She wants to be mad and rip down the very foundations of hell. Nobody who has died has deserved the injustice of it all.
I think the technology here falls somewhere in-between your world and mine. A lot of the stuff here is stuff my world used to have, before the Rash happened.
By records from the time, at the start of the outbreak there were over 7 billion people on the planet. Right now, there's about 290,000 people alive in my world.
Yeah. My grandma was born just after the Rash first started to spread, and she used to share stories from her parents about how things were then. Apparently a lot of people thought it really was the apocalypse.
There's only five countries left in the Known World, where there used to be hundreds before. And most of the survivors were on an island nation that closed its borders before the infection could get in. Finland only has about 10,000 people today, and it had seven million or so before.
[Hence why Tuuri was so happy to find someone who spoke Finnish.]

Makes sense that that would be a comforting thing to find in a place like this.
[... and that it would be painful to lose someone like that.]

[She wants to fight it with every fiber of her being. She wants to be mad and rip down the very foundations of hell. Nobody who has died has deserved the injustice of it all.
But she's also one person. What can she do?]

Me?

[She pauses. 'Drag you to Tuonela myself' doesn't have as much weight to it when they're already in hell.]

That is... some threat.]

Wouldn't want that.

[She does not.
But she's scared of losing the people she's come to care about.]

[Tuuri doesn't need to be told not to kill anyone. Especially not after today.]
... but if you're ever in trouble and need help, know that you need only ask.

[She is! A mechanic!!! She can't fight and she knows it.]
You better mean that, because I'll hold you to those words! The pact has been sealed, there's no going back now.

[He doesn't sound all that bothered to resign himself to this fate.]
Though... I don't know, I've seen girls smaller than you fight demons with their bare fists. You're sure you're not holding out on us?

[And she sounds proud of that fact too.]
Not that I've had much of a chance to do anything here, but if we somehow came across a tank I could make good use of it.

They're rare where I'm from... But technology here tends to be more advanced, so I wouldn't rule out the possibility.

[It takes a moment to process those numbers. Doing the mental math... and it's still bad. Thinking about it only makes it sink in more.]
... That's... an event of apocalyptic proportions...

[It's still a lot to wrap one's head around.]
... And you think there's a cure out there?

We just...have to actually get all the files back to them.
[Which is a Problem when you get attacked and at least one of your teammates dies.]
