We were in this big building of some sort, it was old and weathered and had a lot of vines growing on it. And there were skeletons inside, doing chores and such. One of them made us take off our shoes.
And there were a few hallways and doors we could go down, but they were all locked. So we ended up having to go in the basement. There were two rooms down there, and that's how we ended up finding that strange machine.
Well first Itto put his hand on it, and it trapped me in the middle box. But nobody was on the other side yet, so Lavi was able to yank his hand off and get the doors to open again.
Then we switched it up so Lavi and Itto were in the middle, and Hunter and I were by the pedestals. Once we put our hands on it, this white stuff came out and trapped us there. And then I was in so much pain I thought I was going to die. But then I somehow connected with Lavi? I could see through his eyes and feel his emotions, and I think he could feel mine too. He and Itto had to fight this huge skeleton, and I could see these weak points on it! So I had to tell him what to hit.
That was after this fight. For this one, they came out okay, though Itto broke one of his arms.
Then we ended up in another room part of it looked like a classroom? There were desks and books, and then there was a slab with some tools on it. But there were also some people...
[Three of them she can remember vividly. The fourth...who was the fourth? She remembers there being four, but the last one there is escaping her.]
There were a few more steps, I was kind of hoping they would sound familiar to you since it sounded like how you would do necromancy, maybe? But here's the rest:
...It isn't familiar to me, no. And I doubt very much it is proper necromancy.
[no she understands exactly what this means and she's both freaking out a bit and also mad that palamedes was right about his stupid megatheorem. but she's trying not to react; she doesn't really want to acknowledge openly she recognizes anything.]
But Tuuri takes that at face value, and she looks relieved as a result.]
That's good to hear. They tried to force us to kill our friends, in order to get stronger and fight this horrible monster. But that's where the weird things happened: Itto refused to kill the person he recognized, so the creature gutted him and killed him. Then the green-haired girl woke up and started to fight. I thought he was going to be stuck in her body forever, up until he changed back to himself on the beach.
[She seems hesitant to answer that. Probably because of what she says next.]
Lavi seemed convinced that none of it was real. That it was all another trick done by hell or the demons. So he killed the person he recognized and gained the power to fight back, all in the name of ending it sooner so we could leave.
It sounded right, and I had just seen Itto die to that monster, so...I did it too. So I could have a way to fight back.
[It was a lot of pain and bleeding and was overall a 1/10 would not recommend!
But one part sticks with her.]
It was very painful from start to end, but you know, when we had to use that strange machine to fight the skeleton? Once we got past the pain and actually connected to each other, it was kind of cool to be able to share sight and feelings like that. Lavi and I balanced each other out pretty well.
That is a part of it - even seeing through another person's eyes or experiencing something through them is of a piece with the technique.
It is the ability to use necromancy to manipulate and draw energy from another living person. It is a technique often used by the Eighth House on their cavaliers - they are not warriors so much as batteries.
