Yes, this makes sense. It is difficult for flesh to generate the thanergy necessary to avoid decay, which is the reason most such entities develop the taste for flesh. Even a small amount of the flesh and blood of a living creature can sustain them long enough to hold off decay for some time.
[Oh there goes the memory. Tuuri doesn't have the context to completely understand it, but she can get enough of it to make sense of the memory. There's some kind of internal politics at play here, and boy did Harrow look extremely alone there. Whatever's going on in her world, it must make her feel like she has to handle all of that on her own.
